We also want to remind everyone we have Nationals November 15th. We are so excited that we have some new NAMA students attending for their first time! Yusuf Lum, Myla Mikesell, & TJ Mikesell. Good luck to you three and remember to just try your best and have FUN! Also, remember to cheer on our 5 National Jacket competitors: Felicia Lasecki, Dominic Giles, Tyler Duncan, Adam Willis, & Jessica Lasecki. No matter what place ya'll get we are always proud of our NAMA competitors.
PS. I'll be uploading some new gallery pictures so keep your eye on a link for those as well! Have a great week! Miss Jessica Well Turkey Trot went as well as can be expected with all the rain we got! At least the parade was not a rainy one. It was a nice reprieve. We got over 200 NAMA cards out during the parade so hopefully we will have some new students to meet soon! Here are some pictures from Turkey Trot. We also have a fundraiser for our international Canada trip coming up. If you mention this ad or print this flyer and show it to Chili's on November 18th, Chili's will donate 10% of the bill to us. Please come support us at Mountain Home Chili's on the 18th, we would really appreciate all the help! The special will be going on all day and you can also mention it at the drive thru and they will honor it as well. Please tell your friends and family and spread the word. We will also be there at 5:30-8:30 pm in our uniforms holding doors so come join the cause and get some great dinner in the process! One more thing before you go! Remember we are having a stranger danger/ Taekwondo class at the Marion County Library on October 25th at 11:00 am. Come join the fun and it's absolutely free!
First off I would like to welcome everyone to the new website. Catching up to the 21st century is hard sometimes when it goes so fast! When I first started instructing what was to become North Arkansas Martial Arts (NAMA) 10 years ago I had no idea I would be here today. I am a 5th degree black belt with my own studio and big dreams to expand NAMA into other nearby areas. I do not claim to know where the future will take me but I hope to someday soon have 2 locations open, with a 3rd on the way. Enough about me and my dreams/goals. Let's focus on the awesome NAMA students!
Some new announcements are in order: On October 25th at 11:00am we will be at the Marion County Library doing a class/seminar. Feel free to join in the fun. All participates will receive 2 free weeks of classes. A huge congratulations to our NAMA black belt students who are in for the CTF National Jacket Competition this year! Tyler Duncan, Dominic Giles, Felicia Harper, & Adam Willis. Win or loose you all put out some tough effort in training this year and I could not be any prouder. We also just started the CTF black belt program. This program is designed to help students achieve a more rounded well being through extra curricular activities. Some of these include learning how to write down new life goals, community service, first aid skills, and others, that after completion each student is awarded a patch and certificate. Meanwhile, a black belt is also embroidered with their name and displayed in the school so that they can always have a visual goal where they are headed. If you are a newer student and want more information please let us know and we'll be happy to help answer your questions. The next tournament is nationals on November 15th in Memphis, TN. We are excited about our last competition of the year! Good luck to all the competitors from everywhere! Following our Nationals tournament I must say is one of my favorite gatherings - the Awards Banquet held every year. Ms. Olivia Rosado is our host this year. It will be held on December 6th. This is where everyone is not sweaty for a change and where the jackets and awards are given out. A fancy extended family party if you will. Fun times! We are also training for a bigger cause this year. Myself and a few of my students are training for an international tournament in Canada in May 2015. We are going with other CTF team members representing the USA. We are working very hard physically to get up to par for the competition that will be there. This tournament is also a bit pricey. We are in the process of setting up fundraisers right now. We will be selling food, drinks, and snacks during turkey trot which is October 10th and 11th. We are also trying to set up a pie auction right before elections in November. If you have any ideas or contributions to our cause please let us know! |
